Construction Schedule

The construction on the Back Bay Station Concourse Renovation Project will be completed in phases and is expected to last through Summer 2027.

Pre-Construction: Enabling Phase (June 2025 - January 2026) - Complete

In this pre-construction phase, crews established work zones, built electrical infrastructure, and delivered steel. Crews also began construction of a new bike cage outside at the Clarendon Street entrance of the station.

PHASE 1: Center and East Side Construction (January 2026 - October 2026)

Crews will reconstruct the center and east side of the station concourse and exterior structure adjacent to Clarendon Street. Crews will also complete construction of the new bike cage.

PHASE 2: West Side Construction (October 2026 - Summer 2027)

Crews will reconstruct the west side of the station concourse and exterior structure adjacent to Dartmouth Street.
